Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. (MSG Entertainment) is a leader in live entertainment experiences.  The Company presents or hosts a broad array of events in its diverse collection of venues: New York’s Madison Square Garden, Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and Beacon Theatre and The Chicago Theatre.  MSG Entertainment is also building a new state-of-the-art venue in Las Vegas, MSG Sphere at The Venetian, and has announced plans to build a second MSG Sphere in London, pending necessary approvals. Role Summary

You’re ready to lead creative for iconic sports and entertainment brands. You’re looking to do the kind of work that transcends advertising and impacts culture. You have experience concepting and executing big, breakthrough ideas. You love to write, whether it’s a killer headline or a beautifully-crafted, long-form piece. You geek out on the details. You’re a natural collaborator and you’re in your element working with designers, producers, and editors to steer the creative vision. You relish the chance to define a brand’s identity, but you’re also not above crafting a thumb-stopping post.

You love basketball. If you’re a Knicks fan, that’s a bonus (but not a requirement). You understand the sport, and the culture and you speak the language.

You love technology and would be excited to create innovative campaigns for a new experiential venue.

You’re a self-starter—entrepreneurial with everything you do—and you keep a level head under pressure. You’re adept at building relationships, and you understand the value of working across departments to make great work happen.

Your particular set of skills includes:
• Independent thinking, drive, energy and enthusiasm. You are a team player who takes initiative
• You have a deep passion for sports, live music, entertainment.
• You have an understanding of marketing fundamentals such as strategy, advertising basics and media terms, brand positioning and identity.
• You’re tuned into cultural trends and emerging technologies
• You have experience working on—and writing for—social platforms; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.
• You are able to assess and intelligently discuss design
• You’re nice.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary

  • Lead creative development on advertising for the New York Knicks, Sphere, MSG Live and Family as well as MSG enterprise brand initiatives coming out of Covid-19
  • Concept communication pieces from social and digital to TVC and experiential
  • Write copy across all executions
  • Work with designers and shooter/editors to create breakthrough pieces for every channel
  • Develop strong working relationships with brand and social strategists

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Advertising, or similar.
  • 6+ years of experience in advertising, marketing, or brand content creation, preferably on a creative team in an agency or agency-style environment
  • Fluency with PowerPoint and Keynote

Education

Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
