Role Summary

The Manager- Marketing Production role is a key pillar of an interdisciplinary approach to producing content. A creative problem solver whose scoping and production experience allows him/her to guide development efforts for Knicks & Rangers in game presentations and content. Strong leadership and management skills enable collaboration across disciplines, delivering clearly scoped projects on time and on budget. Critical production decisions are informed and ensure best in class, effective work.

As an excellent communicator and motivator, the Manager- Marketing Production will embody a sense of co-ownership and accountability for in game productions. Responsibly managing multiple project priorities is essential as he/she will advise the group on best practices, scope, pricing. Strong, resilient partnerships with internal departments is as essential as fostering active relationships with external production companies and vendors.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary

MAIN DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:

First and foremost, the Manager of Production is advising on the feasibility and costs of creative concepts, ensuring resources are available, and/or are identifying bottlenecks and proposing solutions ahead of time. He/she manages the arc of a production lifecycle responsibly, with understandable and repeatable methodologies, and ensures proper reviews and approvals at appropriate stages.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Primary contributor during the development of creative content solutions, by assessing feasibility of proposed solutions and recommending approaches, and participates in brainstorming sessions during creative & game day development when available.
  • Cast production solutions that fit feasibility, budgets, and timings.
  • Produce integrated productions by identifying, assigning, and guiding necessary resources to execute.
  • Manage all tasks and resourcing to ensure projects are up to date, tasks adequately assigned, and communication is clear and consistent.
  • Knowledge of and advocate for production processes; ensures team members follow best practices during project execution
  • Establish deep bench and rate cards for external vendors
  • Manage the scheduling and corporate related processes for all external creative video related vendors
  • Manage the day to day of all pre-production, shoot and post projects related to in game video presentation
  • Review all contracts and ensures all details are correct prior to department head sign off

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Managing Corporate Card Expenses on time & project budgets

Qualifications

  • Candidate MUST have a flexible schedule and be able to work nights, weekends, holidays and off-hour shifts when needed.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Extensive video event presentation related vendor roster at various price points
  • Solid experience in sports social/digital/video and photo content production.
  • Strong knowledge of NYC filming processes and postproduction workflows
  • Superior scheduling, tracking and follow up skills
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale, and manage creative and client personality types
  • Candidate should be nimble, calm under pressure, able to multi-task and wear many hats and a stickler for details
  • Strong interpersonal skills; a team player, positive and innovative thinker
  • Ability to deliver great work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • A positive, hardworking, “Can-do” attitude, and the ability to multitask on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be extremely organized and dependable
  • 6-8 years of in game event presentation or sports video related production experience required

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position should require a car and the ability to drive.

 

Normal office environment. May be expected to lift approximately 20 pounds.  Occasional long hours depending on the schedule and season. Must be flexible to work nights or weekends to cover games and events.

Education

Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
