Role Summary

Position is a key manager of MSGE PR projects that support the Live and Productions divisions of the company. Position reports to the Senior Vice President of Communications.

Position will lend publicity expertise to initiatives across all areas of the Live business, which includes concerts, award shows, special events and family shows at our portfolio of venues including MSG, Hulu Theater at MSG, Radio City and The Chicago Theatre. Position will be responsible for ongoing publicity outreach and efforts, including the development and execution of plans and press materials for high profile shows and residencies, facilitating trade interviews and panels to elevate executive visibility, supporting team on Boston Calling initiatives and supporting Live division in pitching media to drive ticket sales and highlight exclusive artist content at our venues. This position also manages onsite press coordination for concerts or events at our venues.

Position will also work on the Productions business including the Christmas Spectacular and Rockettes brand, including the creation and implement proactive, creative and quantifiable public relations plans, which include development of high profile PR opportunities to raise visibility and drive ticket sales, management of on-site press activities and events with Rockettes, support of marketing partnership initiatives, and maintaining and developing new press contacts for pitch opportunities.

Position helps to develop and oversee press plans for Garden of Dreams, including fundraising and programming ideas and leading PR efforts around tentpole events.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary

  • Oversees select projects independently for Family Shows, Concerts, Special Events, Garden of Dreams and Productions which includes ideating, pitching, material creation, briefings and execution of PR opps around the events
  • Assists entertainment PR team in the execution of press announcements, including preparation of press lists, distribution of releases and execution of press events
  • Manages onsite press of rental events such as award shows, special events, concerts, movie premieres, family shows and concerts, which involve managing red carpet activity, interacting independently with national press, and arranging interviews and photo opportunities in high stress, high profile situations
  • Supports departmental functions such as maintaining departmental budget, media contact lists, calendars, statement archives and press release distribution platform to ensure materials are sent on time and kept up to date
  • Organizes and maintains files including bios, headshots, photographs, video, logos and press archives
  • Supports industry publicity including executive interviews with trade magazines to increase executive visibility
  • Coordinates or helps coordinate larger meetings, executive photo shoots and media trainings
  • Responsible for assisting with public relations-department wide clips efforts, including tracking reach and earned media value metrics for PR campaigns
  • Oversees team’s student associate, including hiring, onboarding, and instructing the student associate each term
  • Position also assists Senior Vice President in other areas as needed such as Corporate Communications and Internal Communications

  • Previous public relations experience, including event or entertainment

Education
