Role Summary

This position is responsible for the oversight of all maintenance scheduled and performed on MSG operated and/or controlled fixed wing executive aircraft. The incumbent is responsible to assist the Director of Maintenance with all administrative, human resource, regulatory, and financial planning duties and responsibilities.

This position leads and manages the Maintenance functions for all fixed wing executive aircraft operated/controlled by MSG to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable mechanical operation of assigned aircraft.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary

  • Works within MSG Aviation to maintain a culture of safety with efficient procedures that support customer
  • Oversee the scheduling and performance of maintenance performed on all MSG Aviation operated and/or controlled fixed wing executive aircraft in a time and cost efficient manner.
  • Perform the Inspection Function with regard to aircraft, engine, and accessory logbook
  • Oversee the acquisition of parts and contracting for services not to exceed $25,000 without prior written approval of the Director of Maintenance.
  • Perform the function of Crew Chief on other MSG owned or managed aircraft in addition to this oversight
  • Assist other Crew Chiefs with the performance of maintenance on their assigned aircraft.
  • Act as the Director of Maintenance when delegated as such by the DOM in their absence.
  • Assists the Director of Maintenance with analysis of operating results, the budget planning/reporting processes, as well as the preparation of reports requested by MSG Leadership and MSG Corporate.
  • Assigns work to employees based on the specific skills, training, experience, and availability of the individuals under his direction and control. This position is ultimately responsible for the completion of said work.
  • Reviews and approves employee schedules, which includes requested time of Ensures sufficient staffing levels through scheduling and assignment of overtime, as needed.
  • Prepares, conducts, and/or provides performance evaluation input for employees under his direction
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as needed.


  • Five (5) years of relevant fixed wing experience (including heavy inspections protocols) combined with three (3) years of aviation maintenance supervisory/management/leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A recognized and respected “Leader.”
  • Functions in an organized manner while remaining calm and composed under pressure.
  • Adept at handling multiple priorities on a simultaneous basis.
  • Positive, solution oriented, “Can Do” attitude.
  • Highly effective aircraft troubleshooter with in-depth technical knowledge of the make/model aircraft operated by the company.
  • Effectively blends management skills with technical expertise.
  • Utilizes highly developed computer skills (maintenance tracking applications, Microsoft Office applications).
  • Possesses a good understanding of the Operating and Capital budgeting processes.
  • Readily accommodates schedule fluctuations driven by dynamic aircraft operating schedules.
  • Holds a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain an airport access badge and pass the airport-driving test.

Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
